This sauce is so easy, you won't buy pasta sauce again! Plus it is cheaper than buying the pre-made jar! Ben loves the crushed red pepper in the sauce because it gives it a kick.
Ingredients:
1 can diced tomatoes (you can substitute 2 cups of fresh tomatoes, chopped)
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 Tbs olive oil
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil (or 1 Tbs fresh basil)
1/2 tsp (or more) crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp black pepper
Combine all ingredients in the food processor. Blend until smooth. You can either serve now for a fresh tasting sauce, or you can simmer on the stove top for an hour to develop the flavors more.
